Resources for Your School

As the school year starts back up and you’re looking at what can be offered to your students…..don’t forget to check out what we’ve got for you at EYL!

Educational Presentations

We have educational presentations that we can take to your school.  Topics include Alcohol, Tobacco, Other Drugs, and Media Awareness.  These educational presentations are informative, fun, and interactive! Your students will get up to date information and have a great time doing so!

Action Trainings

Want you students to make a difference in their school and community? Action trainings are the perfect thing to get your students involved while they work together to create a positive environment.  Your students will create an action plan they will use to affect your school for the better while receiving leadership and planning skills.

Majority Rules

Majority Rules is a social norms campaign for your school.  20-30 students who are leaders across your school will come together in one day to create a social norms campaign on a topic such as Alcohol, Tobacco, Drugs, and Bullying using numbers we gather for your school.  This social norms campaign is then unveiled over a period of time to provide maximum effectiveness on your campus.

Leadership Trainings

Want your students to learn more leadership skills and hone in the ones they have? Leadership trainings are an awesome way to build up leaders in your school.  Through hands on activities, thought provoking discussions, and a high energy, fun learning atmosphere, your students will get the best leadership training around!

Motivational Speakers

We have access to some of the best motivational speakers! Whether you are looking for a small assembly or a large presentation, we have just the speakers you are looking for.  Our speakers can pump up your students and faculty with energy while bringing them life lessons so they leave impacted, changed, and ready to start making a difference!

______________________________

In everything we do, we make sure that students are impacted in a positive way as they learn how to be leaders in their schools and communities.  We focus on a positive learning experience in a high energy environment while motivating students to create goals and positive change in their world.

2010 Action Plans: Family Life Group

At the EYL Training Camps in Kerrville and San Angelo, TX, over 250 youth created 28 action plans to take back to their schools and communities. These action plans concentrated on bettering their schools and/or communities by concentrating on issues of parents providing alcohol to minors, reducing smokeless tobacco use by high school students, drug and alcohol use and attitudes, bullying, underage drinking and substance abuse, inappropriate touching/ PDA, youth lack of awareness of issues, youth safety issues, texting and driving, giving backpacks and schools supplies to youth, risky behaviors, anger and violence, gossiping, and community adult involvement in youth.

And already the youth are finding success in completing their action plans…

“Hey Brent, I just wanted to thank you again for the backpacks you gave us. We had the giveaway last week and it was absolutely phenomenal. Along with giving away the backpacks filled with school supplies we fed over 300 people, provided different sessions on parenting, managing finances and other skills. On top of all that we sent all the family’s home with huge boxes filled with food. It was a great night for our group and our community and EYL had a very instrumental part in our success. Some people say that teenagers cannot change the world, but with your help we are proving them wrong. I just wanted you to know that EYL is more than just a one week experience for Family Life and that we are hard at work making our community better….”  -A.D. (2010 EYL Camp Volunteer and part of the Family Life Group)

Family Life, EYL Camp 2010-Kerrville

To all of our campers…..KEEP IT UP! We are so proud of each and everyone one of you and cannot wait to hear more success stories from the completion of all your action plans you created! Remember, we are not too far away and will help you with whatever you need.

EYL Trek Training Team: Episode 2, “Top Gun High Five”

CAPTAINS LOG STARDATE 5…1…9.6..2

Seeing as how many at camp did not know what the Top Gun High Five is, and possibly even you are looking at this blog with a confused face, we shall demonstrate this particular high five CAMP STYLE!

Here to help are the reliable Captain Kirk (aka Trey) and Spock (aka Shawn, aka…well you get the picture)

Step 1: Move towards the other person

Step 2: Bring hand up in circular motion

Step 3: Continue this motion until both hands slap up top

Step 4: Follow through with circular motion as hands go down

Step 5: Continue this motion until hands slap down low

Step 6: Move away with smile as you have completed the Top Gun High 5

Warning: Do not attempt such a high five if you have a history of hand-to-face slappage, anti-circular swing, or chronic eye fatigue

EYL Trek Training Team: Episode 1, “The Vulcan Neck Pinch”

CAPTAINS LOG STARDATE 5…1…9.5..1

As there is no sign of intelligent life..anywhere…we find our Captain James T. Kirk (aka Trey) as he is training EYL staffers on the proper procedures of the ship.

As Captain Kirk continues his monologue, Spock (aka Shawn, aka El Suprimo, aka Hot Cop, aka Bubbles) appears with his characteristic logical…if not irritated….look.

Before Kirk can continue rambling on how he battled multiple aliens with no tactical weapons and the warp drive disabled, Spock decides to quiet him with his Vulcan Neck Pinch

There is almost a look of satisfaction from Spock as Kirk begins to fall from the affect of the neck pinch…..almost

You have just witnessed a successful Vulcan neck pinch!
